Introduction
As the world is swept up in a grand current of change ---best defined as informationalization and globalization---the importance of the healthcare and medical industry continues to grow due to diverse health and medical service-related demands, changing disease patterns, and increasing expansion of related industries. At the same time, long-term care insurance for the elderly and the expansion of policies on social and health investments are emerging as hot topics in the public administration field.
In response to these changes that are happening in our world, Gachon University's Graduate School of Medicine aims to produce medical service providers and practitioners who have more diversified professional expertise and stronger information competency with a clear vision of the future.
In 2001, our school produced masters of business administration and health science for the first time, and in 2002, we produced masters of medical science for the first time as we began offering a doctoral degree as a major course. Even though these degree programs have a relatively short history, the school has been committed to providing a well-balanced specialized education for future medical professionals who have a wealth of theoretical knowledge and practical skills that will make them stand out in the medical field.
