The College of BioNano Technology aims to help students develop practical research ability so that they can become intellectual assets for mankind. Students will also build professional knowledge so that they can spearhead the technological revolution in the food, medicine, environment, materials, electric electronics, and energy fields for future society by putting their knowledge of nanotechnology in biology, chemistry, bio, life science, food biotechnology, and nutritional science into practice.
The department offers an inter-discipline curriculum by integrating nanophysics, nanochemical, bionano technology, life science, food biotechnology and nutritional science to produce creative and versatile scientists and technicians who can serve as the foundation of industries and scientific technology, and have expertise in the latest future sciences.
In order to produce the highest-class professional human resources in the composite science fields built on the fusion of nano and bio technologies, the department offers lectures on theories and efficient experiment practices. The department also aims to produce the highest-class professionals through a research-oriented education system built on collaboration with industries, academia, and research organizations including prestigious domestic research institutions.

Department of Life Sciences
Introduction to the Major
Life Science is an academic discipline that studies the phenomenon of the life of living organisms and the structure and function of bio materials. Therefore, the department strives to produce innovative human resources who will play an essential role in the life science-related field of industry as well as in the research and education of life science based on the understanding of diverse aspects of modern science with regard to the phenomenon of life.
Job Placement
Graduates of this department will find careers in private companies or government jobs (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs) depending on their choice. Career options associated with their major courses include bio industries, pharmaceutical companies, or food manufacturing businesses. Graduates can also find a career in research centers run by private companies, state-funded research organizations (Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology, Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology among many others), national research institutes (Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute of Biological Resources, Korea National Arboretum, among many others), and life science related government-affiliated organizations (Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, National Institute of Environmental Research, Korea Forest Research Institute and many others)
