Incorporating user experiences and feedback to realize user-friendly smart homecare

Gachon University’s Infrastructure Project Group (Director: Lee Eun-seok) held the 1st Homecare Day Festival on the 26th at the Medical Campus.
The event was attended by Choi Miri, Senior Vice President of Gachon University, Director Lee Eun-seok, other university officials, around 30 researchers, and about 50 users of smart home healthcare services. Participants shared the project’s achievements and discussed future development directions.
Smart home healthcare services support vulnerable groups, including the elderly and individuals with mild disabilities, in maintaining safe and healthy daily lives at home. Through this festival, the Infrastructure Project Group presented:
Project performance reports
Results and follow-up actions from user meetings
User experience presentations
Guidance on using the Wello! app
By directly incorporating users’ experiences and feedback, the event helped establish a user-centered smart homecare image.

The festival promoted Gachon University and the Project Group’s positive and user-friendly image to both participants and the local community. It also shared service improvement achievements based on feedback from user meetings. Additionally, the event enhanced the Project Group’s profile through media coverage and external promotion. Significantly, it provided a foundation for smart home healthcare companies to develop user-tailored products and services based on real user experiences.
Looking ahead, the Infrastructure Project Group plans to:
Expand smart home healthcare service operations
Operate community networks to promote mutual support among users
Strengthen collaboration with private companies to advance the services
Director Lee Eun-seok stated,
“This Homecare Day was a meaningful event where users took the lead in sharing their experiences and opinions. Moving forward, we will continue to reflect the voices from the field to create smart home healthcare models that truly enhance quality of life.”
