Graduate School of Business
Since opened in 1985, the Graduate School of Business aims to nurture creative professional managers who will lead the knowledge and information-based society of the 21st century. It has established itself as a cradle for nurturing entrepreneurs who will play a leading role in the development of a knowledge-based society by researching advanced theories and practical techniques that can solve various management problems faced by companies and producing a number of graduates of master's and CEO courses.
The graduate school aims to cultivate talents required by modern companies and society by developing students' personal and social potential to the maximum, and reflects the continuous changes and demands of society in the curriculum. It does not stop at acquiring simple management knowledge, but provides education that enhances individual qualities by developing individual abilities and aptitudes, creativity and globalization sense, and mental and health. In addition, this graduate school of business provides in-depth education that improves the social qualities of students, such as their own experiential knowledge, leadership, organizational cohesion, and smooth interpersonal relationships.
Graduate School of Education
The Graduate School of Education was established in 1989 to realize education specialization and science in response to the demands of society and education, and foster novel and competent high-level educators who will be in charge of second-generation education by researching and teaching advanced theories and practical application methods. As of 2021, the Graduate School of Education has produced 2,735 graduates and has grown into a prestigious educational graduate school centered in the metropolitan area with 280 enrolled students over 30 years. Currently, the graduate school operates the degree courses in eight major fields, not only re-education for teachers, but also degree courses for nurturing education experts, and secured 9 excellent full-time professors.
In addition, through the organic relationship between the teaching and learning center installed on campus and the human rights center (student counseling office, gender equality counseling office, human rights counseling office), it provides various services to improve not only the teaching ability of teachers and instructors, but also the learning ability of learners as well as the teaching competence of pre-service teachers. Further it provides abundant learning resources for this purpose and supports various services for the character and welfare of students.
In the results of competency diagnosis of teacher training institute, Gachon University's Graduate School of Education was selected as the best (A grade) in the re-education course and the excellent grade (B) in the training course to be confirmed of it’s excellent performance.
Graduate School of Social Policy
The Graduate School of Social Policy was established as a Graduate School of Public Administration in 1989 and was reorganized into the Graduate School of Social Policy in September 2016. The purpose of the Graduate School of Social Policy is to train competent leaders and managers who can effectively respond to changes in the administrative and social environment of the 21st century, such as informatization, globalization, and localization. In particular, the master's program in public policy, national safety management, caring and safety, real estate policy, social welfare, and counseling is intended to produce leaders who can fulfill their responsibilities and contribute to the community and national development, and global prosperity. In addition, through academic research and various club activities, the graduate school creates shared values for self-realization and consideration for others and cultivates the virtues of leaders who can respond to globalization, localization, and informatization.
Graduate School of Industrial Environment
The Graduate School of Industrial Environment was established in 1996 to nurture high-quality industrial talents required in overall industrial technology through re-education of basic technology for basic theories and applied fields of engineering, which is the foundation of the industry, and education and research of the latest cutting-edge technology. This graduate school emphasizes specialization and intensive education and experimentation by competent professors and industry instructors using the laboratory and expensive high-tech equipment secured in 11 major fields of the College of Engineering. The Graduate School of Industrial Environment has established master's degree programs in five majors: Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Interior Architecture, Building Equipment Engineering, and Fire and Disaster Prevention Engineering, cultivating expertise in each field.
Graduate School of Special Therapy
With the aging of the population and rapid urbanization, the traditional family system has been dismantled, and single-person households living alone are rapidly increasing. In addition, the number of children who are not properly cared for by their parents is increasing due to the increase in dual-income households and the increase in school violence.
Such a social phenomenon requires the nurturing of new therapists who comprehensively deal with issues of even development of mind and body and healing. Accordingly, in 2012, Gachon University established the Graduate School of Special Therapy intending to focus on nurturing therapists with a warm heart and abundant knowledge to fulfill its mission.
Currently, the Graduate School of Special Therapy has 2 departments and 7 majors, including the Department of Special Therapy and the Department of Clinical Nutrition and 3 departments and 8 majors since 1st semester 2022 including the Department of Special Therapy (Psycho cognitive Therapy, Speech Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy) ), the Department of Exercise Therapy (Major of Exercise Therapy, Pilates Therapy), and Department of Clinical Nutrition (Major of Clinical Nutrition) providing systematic professional education in related fields.
Graduate School of Game
Gachon University's Graduate School of Game, which was established for the first time in Korea to nurture game experts through industry-university-research customized education, prepared a new turning point in Gachon University's IT education admission of 21 first-year students in March 2016. Gachon University is adjacent to Pangyo Techno Valley, called the Mecca of the game industry, so cooperative education with game companies is easier than any other university. In addition, an excellent educational environment has been created based on active industry-university cooperation between the related institutions and faculties who are actively working in the field.
This graduate school aims to foster creative professionals who can lead the game industry by exploring game content development theory and application methods and equipping them with core skills in game production.
