Department of AI・Software
The educational goal of the Department of AI Software is to provide the best education to students who want to live by changing the world with software so that they can take the first step forward in society. Department of AI Software is a prestigious department of Gachon University, which has set a new standard for software education in domestic universities thanks to the curriculum that predicted the 4th industrial revolution and the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Information support Communication for a software-oriented university.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Major : In 2019, Gachon University established the Department of AI Software as the first department in Korea. In the first and second years, students learn the basics of software coding and mathematics, and in the third and fourth years, they learn advanced courses such as robotics, data science, deep learning, computer vision, and natural language processing.

Software Major : The Software Major was established in March 2010 as an “Educational Specialization” department and produced the first graduates in February 2014. This department was selected as a “Software Specialized” department by the Ministry of Education in 2014 due to the “software education innovation” effort. Also, in 2015, Gachon University was selected as a “software-focusing university” by the Ministry of Science and ICT and has received an annual subsidy of KRW 2 billion from the Ministry of Science and ICT. In 2021, this department will be selected as the participant in the second phase of the assignment and receive 11 billion won in support for 6 years to produce the largest SW talents in Korea with the highest quality education required in the age of the 4th industrial revolution.
