Department of Oriental Language and Literature
The Department of Oriental Languages and Literature trains experts who can respond to the times of Asia in the 21st century through education in various fields related to China and Japan, aim for universal values of the world, and grasp the trends of the times from an objective perspective. In addition, this department focuses on character development, which are easily neglected in a competitive society.
There are two major courses in this department: Chinese Literature and Japanese Literature. Chinese literature and Chinese, as well as Chinese culture, literature, history, philosophy, and society, are offered in various fields such as Chinese culture, literature, history, philosophy, and society in order to enable them to have the competency to participate in the international times.
In the Japanese Language and Literature major, students acquire specialized knowledge across Japanese studies, including Japanese language, literature, and culture, so that they can accurately understand the neighboring country of Japan. The diverse curriculum and educational contents aim to nurture and produce competent leaders who will be active in all fields as well as language and literature, thereby nurturing professionals who will contribute to the peace of mankind and the common prosperity of East Asia.
