실시간으로 PCR 증폭을 모니터링함으로써 시약이 제한되지 않고 반응이 효율적인 성장지수단계에서 반응을 측정할 수 있는 장비이다. 폭넓은 excitation 파장을 제공하기 위해 tungsten Halogen Lamp가 장착되었으며, excitation source는 최상의 스펙트럼 분리로 4개까지 서로 다른 dye를 이용한 실험이 가능하다. Photomultiplier tube(PMT)는 각 target으로부터의 방출파장을 측정하고. Signal 을 증폭시키는데 사용된다.
